scared of being a minority and feeling like they "lost" what they perceive to be "their country" during the Obama years hired a thug to protect them. They don't care how bad he is, how low he goes, or what he does so long as they are dumb enough to believe he is on their side. In fact, many of his supporters are such jaded, craven losers they actually LIKE they fact that Trump is dirty and corrupt because they honestly believe they're fighting fire with fire.

I empathize, but knowing more than a few of them it's pointless to try and communicate with these people or convince them they are wrong. They have chosen this path rather than trying to work with the rest of America and, at least politically speaking, they can all go fuck themselves as far as I'm concerned. Thankfully most of their kids and grandkids won't be like them or view the country in the same twisted and backwards way that they do.

The GOP will continue to try and cheat and rig the system in their own favor though, because they know their numbers are dwindling and have a lot of money behind them. Perhaps the saddest part of this all is today's Trumpleton base was put in their alternate reality of fear and loathing by a cabal of cynical, rich assholes looking to play them like the fools they know they are. They created the toxic subculture that gave rise to Trump and White Trashionalism by so effectively turning a large swath of white America against their own country, and now that's all they've got for a voter base. They would deserve their own medicine if the rest of the country wasn't their collateral damage.
